it's my favorite night of the year....
and I have nothing to say.
so here's my offering:
You darkness, that I come from,
I love you more than all the fires
that fence in the world,
for the fire makes
a circle of light for everyone,
and then no one outside learns of you.
But the darkness pulls in everything;
shapes and fires, animals and myself,
how easily it gathers them!—
powers and people—
and it is possible a great energy
is moving near me.
I have faith in nights.

Hi, Sue-
Thanks for coming over to my place! In answer to your question, I teach Enlish as a Second Language to low-income immigrants and refugees. I LOVE my students, and I write about work when interesting things happen. We also do a little US Citizenship, some computers and a smattering of Family Literacy. I'll bet we have prtetty similar students.
